Apple CEO Steve Jobs directed his comments to the public after rumors of his health condition spurred various rumors. Following his backing out as the Macworld conference key note speaker, the scuttlebutt grew explosively. Mr. Jobs substituted his Marketing Chief, Phil Schiller, to speak in his stead.
Fortunately, according to Jobs, the health issue has been diagnosed and he is now on the road to recovery.

I heard that he had cancer through the rumor mill. Perhaps he’s HIV or actually has AIDS. He seems to very insulated from the outside world.
